LEDs or Light Emitting Diodes were first produced in 1968. They are a very small and energy efficient lights often used as an indicator in small devices. These lights are now being used frequently to add light in small areas or to decorate places around the house. Read on for tips on where to put them up around the house.
Using LED strips under kitchen counters can have two different effects. The practical option is a good amount of light to use in the kitchen in the evening or night which is very energy efficient and not too bright. The other option is for fashion. These lights are commonly used to make contemporary kitchens as they can change in colour very simply to create colour differentials.
Large cabinets and cupboards can often look dark and gloomy. Counter this by adding LED strips on the inside of doors or underneath shelves. These lights can be very bright to look at directly so putting them places you cannot see such as under a shelf is a great way to get lots of light from them without hurting your eyes.
These lights can be very nice to add behind a bed or under the bed skirting. Add space to the room as well as use them for mood lighting by changing the colour of them. LEDs are a great way to add floor light. By adding them under the bed the light spreads out meaning you no longer need to bang your shins whilst finding your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
Another great place to put these lights is behind a TV or behind a TV unit. The light is not too much but gives an added effect of extra space or great mood lighting for movie night. When buying these lights there are many different options. However, the recommendation we would give is to find some with different colours and the option to dim or brighten them. This allows for great variations in light to match the mood or what you are doing.
LED light strips are very cheap to buy, long lasting, extremely energy efficient and very safe. All of these reasons make them great for added light in so many different areas around the house.

The government has made it clear that cleaners are still permitted to work inside peoples' homes as long as Government Guidelines on social distancing and staying safe are followed (see below). In summary:
You can be outside of your home for work purposes where your place of work remains open and where you cannot work from home, including if your job involves working in other people's homes.
The full text can be found here New National Restrictions from 5 January (in England; there are similar texts available for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Specifically relating to cleaners, the guidance continues: 'This guidance applies to those working in, visiting or delivering to home environments. These include, but are not limited to, people working in the following areas:
Note this guidance is for people who are fit and well, and is dependent on the following social distancing guidelines being followed:
The good news with regard to cleaning is that the cleaners can social distance from their clients very easily, and we would advise that, if you are at home when they are there, that you remain in a separate room to your cleaner.
If you are happy to adhere to the government guidelines - and if your cleaner has not been in touch already - then please just call the office and we will ensure that your cleaning continues.
